- Drill and Training Data: Your drill responses, scores, accuracy rates, progress through training modules, and training preferences.
- AI Coaching Conversations: Messages you send within the App's AI coaching feature to receive backgammon guidance and analysis.
- Support Communications: Information you provide when contacting us for support, including the content of your messages and any attachments.
- Text Message Opt-In Data: Your phone number and consent records when you opt in to receive text messages from our Better Backgammon Alerts program.
Information Collected Automatically
- Device Identifiers: We collect device-specific identifiers (such as the Identifier for Vendors on iOS) to support app functionality, analytics, and troubleshooting.
- Usage Analytics: Information about how you interact with the App, including features used, drills completed, screens viewed, session duration, taps, and actions taken.
- Device and Technical Information: Device type, model, operating system and version, app version, language settings, time zone, and screen resolution.
- Crash and Performance Data: Crash logs, performance metrics, and diagnostic data to identify and resolve technical issues.
- Log Data: IP address, browser type, referring/exit pages, date/time stamps, and clickstream data when you visit our website.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- Provide and operate the Service: To deliver core functionality, including drills, equity analysis, AI coaching, progress tracking, and daily challenges.
- Personalization: To adapt drill difficulty, recommend training modules, and tailor AI coaching responses based on your skill level and history.
- Analytics and improvement: To analyze usage patterns, diagnose technical issues, and improve the App's features, performance, and user experience.
- Communications: To send you service-related notifications, including push notifications (with your permission), text messages (with your consent), updates about the App, and responses to your support requests.
- Text messaging: To send you game tips, practice reminders, and new content alerts through our Better Backgammon Alerts program if you have opted in.

- Supabase: Cloud database hosting, user authentication, and data storage. Your account information, training data, and related content are stored on Supabase's infrastructure. See Supabase's privacy policy.
- PostHog: Product analytics to understand how the App is used and to identify areas for improvement. PostHog may receive usage analytics data and device identifiers. See PostHog's privacy policy.
- Apple: In-app purchases (App Store), push notifications (APNs), and crash reporting. See Apple's privacy policy.
- Anthropic: AI-powered coaching feature. Coaching conversations may be processed by Anthropic's API. See Anthropic's privacy policy.
- SMS Service Providers: We use third-party messaging aggregators and providers to deliver text messages through the Better Backgammon Alerts program.
5. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:
- Service providers: We share information with the third-party service providers described above, solely to the extent necessary for them to perform services on our behalf.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, regulation, subpoena, court order, or other legal process, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Better Backgammon, our users, or the public.

6. SMS/Text Messaging Privacy
This section applies specifically to information collected through our Better Backgammon Alerts text messaging program.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes.
Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, except for aggregators and providers of the Text Message services.
When you opt in to receive text messages from Better Backgammon, we collect your mobile phone number and a record of your consent. This information is used exclusively to deliver the text messages you have requested and to manage your subscription preferences.
We do not use your phone number or opt-in consent for any purpose other than delivering the Better Backgammon Alerts program. We do not sell, rent, lease, or otherwise share your mobile phone number or opt-in consent with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
The only third parties who may receive your phone number in connection with the text messaging program are the messaging aggregators and service providers who transmit the messages on our behalf, and they are contractually prohibited from using your information for any purpose other than delivering our messages.

- Training and progress data: Retained while your account is active. Deleted or anonymized upon account deletion.
- AI coaching conversations: Retained while your account is active. Deleted upon account deletion.
- Analytics data: Retained in aggregate, anonymized form indefinitely for product improvement. Individual-level analytics are retained for up to 24 months.
- Text messaging opt-in records: Retained for the duration of your subscription and for up to 6 months after you opt out, as required for compliance purposes.
- Support communications: Retained for up to 24 months after resolution.
If you delete your account or request data deletion, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, unless we are required to retain it for legal, regulatory, or legitimate business purposes (such as fraud prevention or resolving disputes).
