What is Better Backgammon?
Better Backgammon is a training app designed to help you improve your backgammon skills through targeted drills, cube decision challenges, equity analysis powered by GNU Backgammon, and AI coaching. It's built for players who love the game and want to get measurably better.
What skill level is the app designed for?
Better Backgammon is designed for serious casual players — people who already know the rules and play regularly, but want structured practice to improve. Drills range from beginner-friendly opening roll exercises to advanced cube decisions and positional strategy.
Is Better Backgammon free?
Better Backgammon is free to download with core features included. Premium features including the full drill library and unlimited AI coaching are coming soon.
How does the equity analysis work?
We use GNU Backgammon, one of the world's strongest backgammon engines, to calculate the equity (expected value) of each position. After you make your move in a drill, the app reveals the equity difference between your choice and the optimal play — showing you not just whether you were right, but exactly how much each decision matters.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings > Account > Delete Account within the app. You can also email support@betterbackgammon.com to request account deletion.
What devices are supported?
Better Backgammon requires iOS 17 or later and runs on both iPhone and iPad.
How do I report a bug or request a feature?
Email support@betterbackgammon.com with as much detail as possible. Screenshots and steps to reproduce are always helpful.
